Teacher Certification

All of our coaches deliver the same healthy, science-based technique. Coaches can increase their level of certification with continued education and experience.

To become a coach at Sing Orlando, all coaches must…

  • …prove knowledge of vocal anatomy & physiology.
  • …be familiar with the types and symptoms of vocal damage.
  • …prove knowledge of vocal science.
  • …prove knowledge of music theory.
  • …have completed multiple vocal performances.
  • …have observed lessons from master coaches.
  • …have taken lessons from master coaches.
  • …continue their education with professional development and voice lessons.

The levels of certification at Sing Orlando are:

  • Beginner Coach
    • Have observed over 20 hours of lessons.
    • Have extensive performing, music, and education experience.
    • Can apply certain warm-ups to different voices.
    • Can explain vocal concepts that are important for beginners.
  • Advancing Coach
    • Have taught over 100 hours of lessons and observed over 50 hours of lessons.
    • Understand how various warm-ups are used for different voices.
    • Can explain most vocal concepts.
  • Associate Coach
    • Have taught over 500 hours of lessons and observed over 75 hours of lessons.
    • Are well-versed in advanced warm-ups for various voice types.
    • Can explain vocal concepts thoroughly and clearly.
    • Are pursuing membership in national and/or international associations on the voice.
  • Master Coach
    • Have taught over 1,000 hours of voice lessons.
    • Have maintained a full-time coaching schedule for over one year.
    • Are active members of national and international associations on the voice and/or singing.
