Struggle with Singing High Notes in Tune?

On a recent Q&A Livestream, Sing Orlando coaches Kirsten & Ken Taylor were asked, “Why do I sing higher notes out of tune, but my low notes are fine?” Here’s the video.

Truth is, struggling to sing only high notes in tune is a pretty common issue. More often than not, it’s usually the result of tension.

Ultimately, we can get away with sloppier technique more on the lower end of our range than we can on the upper end. Said differently, singing lower notes is typically easier.

Once you start singing higher, your voice must be more balanced. If you’re singing with tension up in higher ranges, your voice is going to be less accurate and agile.
