WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE

Sing Orlando is dedicated to delivering quality, practical, science-based vocal instruction to the Orlando area.

Though it may look like a chain, Sing Orlando is entirely family owned and operated by Ken and Kirsten Taylor. In addition to coaching full time, Kirsten takes care of the business and administrative side of things while Ken takes care of marketing and teacher training.

Over time, the Sing Orlando family has grown to include Saige Love, Sami Gresham, and Molly Jarvis. Each coach has been extensively trained by the Taylors, ensuring that all students receive the same professional-level lessons regardless of experience level, budget, or age.

OUR HISTORY

OUR HISTORY

Ken and Kirsten met in 2014. Ken thought Kirsten would make a great business partner. Kirsten thought Ken would make a great boyfriend. Each was right. Now married, Ken & Kirsten own and operate Sing Orlando. They are dedicated to delivering quality, practical, science-based vocal instruction for all ages and genres.

Ken has been a vocal coach since he graduated from the University of Tennessee over 13 years ago. In addition to a vocal performance degree, he continued his education by studying under Brett Manning and ultimately becoming a certified Brett Manning Associate. (Brett Manning is famous for being the vocal coach for Taylor Swift, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Leona Lewis, and more.) He owned and operated Sing Studios in Memphis, Tennessee before moving himself and his business to Orlando.

Kirsten had a far more varied post-graduate career. A musical theatre and literature double major from the University of Virginia, Kirsten worked at a government contracting agency in Washington, DC, toured the country with Missoula Children’s Theatre, worked for Disney, and taught middle school English & Drama before “settling down” as a vocal coach. Kirsten has continued her vocal training education through the International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM), the Singing Voice Science Workshop (SVSW) with Dr. Richard Lissemore, and Peak Performance Anxiety Training with Dr. Jon Skidmore.

In 2018, Ken and Kirsten renovated a building in Winter Park to house Sing Orlando and its multiple coaches. After COVID-19 hit, they closed their physical location and moved all their lessons online. Now, like many businesses in this post-pandemic world, they are a “hybrid” business – teaching local in-person lessons at the Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park and virtual lessons with clientele around the world!
